Gorgeous, Sporty, Fun-loving – Tristan’s senior portraits in Butte, Montana

Featured Butte, Montana Senior Session – Tristan Walks

We believe senior portraits aren't just the formal
We believe senior portraits aren’t just the formal “posey” photos anymore, but include a true portrait of a senior’s personality.

Tristan made me laugh from the day I met her. She is funny and silly – winking and nodding during her photo session unaware that I was actually photographing her being so silly!

She is also incredible at softball and practically had a 30 minute workout during or portrait session when I had her jumping, sliding and running after the rolling ball that I had just made her jump for. And she had fun while doing it! Find out if you should include sports in your senior portraits here.

Sports photos during senior portraits can add impact to your portraits. Tristan above jumps for the ball with a background of the Montana mountains.

What she wanted for her senior portraits:

When I talked with Tristan and her mom Lorie during their senior portrait planning consultation – there were some important things that they wanted to show in her senior portraits.

  • Softball – this had been a big part of her life through high school

  • Her fun-loving personality

  • Her love of photography, converse shoes and her faith

  • Photos in an old-Butte building to show where she is from

Old, historic buildings in Uptown Butte add a lot of interest to senior portraits. We love this epic staircase with Tristan standing in the middle.

The session:

Tristan opted for the 3-hour senior portrait session including professional hair and makeup, since she wanted ample time to showcase softball as well as other locations and variety in her portraits to showcase her personality.

She also wanted to have the once-in-a-lifetime senior portrait pampering experience where she knew she would look her best and feel confident – not wondering if her hair and makeup looked OK. Since Tristan doesn’t normally wear much makeup or do fancy things with her hair, we worked with the hair and makeup artist’s to create something gorgeous yet natural and not overdone. Tasha Hall from Studio 19 did her makeup and Kaleigh Holman of Sugar ‘n Spice did her hair.

What Tristan and her mom thought after the session – was the senior portrait experience worth it?

Doing my senior pictures with Lisa was the best! We had so much fun going all over town to different locations! Never had done anything like it and had a blast! Not only was it fun but the pictures turned out incredible! It’s was the best and I recommend anyone who wants pictures done to go to her!

I was so excited to go along with my daughter, Tristan, while she had her senior photo session with Lisa Wareham. We met at Lisa’s studio where Lisa had Tristan put on a beautiful gown, she looked fabulous. After taking a few more photos of different poses we walked down the street to an amazing old building. This was a perfect backdrop for some amazing photos. Lisa used a giant windows, an old couch and a staircase to create some wonderful shots. Her creative use of light and props really help make each photo a special memory. I was excited when the next place we went was an old playground. It was so fun to watch as Tristan climbed the ladder of the tall old slide and rode around the long forgotten merry-go-round, all the while Lisa taking photo after photo. Next, we were off to a beautiful country setting. The combination of sunlight and a light breeze made this part of the session extra memorable. What a backdrop for amazing senior portraits! The last place we went was a t-ball ball field. Some fun portraits were taken of Tristan going after the ball in her softball and soccer uniform. The entire experience was so incredible. I would most definitely suggest Lisa Wareham for your Seniors session
